Pence announces Muncie eligible to receive federal funding for law enforcement technology program
WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Congressman Mike Pence announced today the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill that would make Muncie, IN eligible to receive funding for the Law Enforcement Technology Program.
“Our local law enforcement agencies play a vital role in not only keeping our communities safe from crime but also in the global war on terrorism,” said Pence. “Should this bill become law, it could provide a great opportunity for the city of Muncie to bolster its local law enforcement infrastructure.”
The bill, which funds the Commerce, State and Justice Departments for FY 2005, now goes to the Senate. If it becomes law, Muncie would be eligible to receive funding to assist state and local law enforcement agencies in investigating, responding to and preventing crimes and gathering and analyzing information.
